The Team: Headquarters
We couldn’t run our offices without our large, dedicated, well-fed staff.
Ricky: Intern
Ricky is the newest employee and learning the ropes. He is a bit busy still in the office, but he is learning from Jack to settle down during office hours...unfortunately that's usually in my lap.
Jack: Security
Jack is adept at two things: sleeping and keeping track of what is going on outside. He can hear a car from 300 yards and a squirrel from anywhere within a one mile radius. No danger of silent attack from either.
Sneaky Pete: On disability
Sneaky is a lesson in the “careful what you name your animals” category. Sneaky used to be office manager, but it proved emotionally overwhelming.
Sophie: Lap Warmer
Lap warmer extraordinaire, Sophie, an anticipatory purrer, makes her way across the desk, steps on the keyboard and does the big plop into my lap. We would give her more work than this, but she isn’t that bright.
The Team: Satellite Office
Suzy: Office Gossip
Suzy likes to talk. She never runs out of things to say, and does honestly go on and on about the other staff members. She is on probation.
Nash: Foot Warmer
Nash is probably the most talented foot warmer we’ve had. He follows Jennifer everywhere. Nash is singularly responsible for Jennifer having her feet planted firmly on the ground.
Gabby: Assistant Foot Warmer
Gabby is working hard to get a promotion.
Scooter: File Clerk
Scooter thinks he is underpaid so he does whatever he is told with a smile and a purr, hoping to get a raise.
Inky: Office Manager
Inky never misses a beat, taking it all in, running it around in that tiny pea brain, keeping the gossip and the foot warmers in line, and hoping payday includes another meal.
Memorial: Animals who live in our hearts
Abby
Abby left us for kitty heaven in April 2011 at the age of 20 years and 1 day. Blessed with the crankiest meow known to the feline world, she was the dearest little cuddler in the house.
Scout
Scout was the rock of the family for 18 years, fond of sleeping on the fax machine, the DVR or any other warm spot. She leaves a warm spot in our hearts.
Sadie
We miss Sadie a lot, resident foot warmer for 15 years and co-founder of the company. Bound by a strong code of ethics, Sadie encouraged us to look at the positive side of things, and in times of conflict, always take the high road—there might be cookies there.
Monty
Monty was the yellow lab of cats, a solid calming spirit who loved everyone.
If you've gotten this far, you probably want to see this dog haiku.
